What is Anxiety?
There are quite a few symptoms of anxiety, these include feeling frightened, nervous or panicky more frequently than what’s normal. It’s not uncommon to feel low or depressed and have it may also affect how you sleep too. Anxiety can be so debilitating because when you feel those ways for long enough it can begin to affect you physically.
Why Have I Got Anxiety?
So, everyone has anxiety, it’s just about controlling the times is shows, the severity, and the frequency it occurs.
There is some light at the end of the tunnel though. We all have to create anxiety! Therefore it makes it easy to understand that we, need to reduce how much we create.
What Are My Options?
- Think of things to do that are conducive to feeling the opposite of anxious! Meditation, mindfulness, and even self-hypnosis are a great set of tools to start your journey.
- Diet is a big factor in anxiety. Think of foods and drinks that calm and have those instead of the ones that stress.
- 1-2-1 therapy and anxiety counselling. Having a qualified and experienced therapist is a proven method of treatment. But, don’t expect to sit for a few hours and be “cured” without haveing to take some action because it doesn’t work that way. If you’re ready to take action then this can be the best method to choose.
Can I Help You With Anxiety?
Very possibly. Since 2006 I have worked with 1000’s of clients on hundreds of issues. Each person has their own experience and with 1-2-1 therapy, like most things, the effects can vary. However, as a practical therapist / counselor, I have come to find that a solution focused therapy tied in with actionable steps for my clients to take, allows them to feel empowered. So therapy isn’t done to you, we look for solutions and use proven tools and techniques to assist you going forward.
30% of what I treat is anxiety and panic related. Even though right now you may feel like the only person who suffers from those feelings, you’re not alone. For you though, this statement doesn’t necessarily help. But, what it should do is give you hope that others feel like you do now, and get a result from embarking on making changes through counselling.
